ROTI-BETI- Nepal_India

NEPAL-INDIA_Territorial Dispute :-
Continue ROTI_BETI
India -Nepal has so far good relations & these relations will be continued without any barriers.
India should try to convey Nepal's leaders about the congenial & friendly ( often romanticised as one of "roti-beti" -food & marriage ) environment that 6 to 8 million Nepali Citizens living in India enjoy. Therefore, any thoughtless erosion of this centuries old together may prove difficult for both counties. The claims will be resolved by dialogue & bilateral talks between two countries.

Nepal claim over area of LIPULEKH , KALAPANI & LIMPIYADHURA raised concern when India inaugurated 80 km long- road strategically crucial road connecting Lipulekh with Dharchula in Uttarakhand.

The Kalapani territory is an area under Indian administration as a part of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state of India, but it was also claimed by Nepal since 1988. According to Nepal's Claim , it lies in Darchula District, Sundrupashchim pradesh.

Let us first look at map - & then try to understand dispute & claim's made by both countries
As per above image it is clear that Limpiyadhura -Kalapani -Lipulekh location in map shows that limpiyadhura is North to Nepal & Lipulekh is west to Nepal, while both from western side of India. The territory represents the basin of the Kalapani river, one of the headwaters of the River Kali ( Mahakali) in the Himalayas at the altitude of 3.6K - 5.2K meters.

The valley of Kalapani with Lipulek forms the top Indian route to Kailash _Manasarvor, an ancient pilgrimage site  -where Lord shiva is worshiped. Current status it that It is controlled by India since 1865 while disputed by Nepal. Indian ITBP is established here.
What is Dispute ?
The Kali River forms the Boundary between India & Nepal. Both agree with this boundary . Now, Nepal claim's Kali originates form a stream at Limpyadhura , NW  of Lipulekh & thus Kalapani, Limpyadhura & lipulekh fall to the east of the river & are part of nepal's Dharchula district .
India's Stand:- Kali orginates from Lipu-lekh pass & the Sugauli Treaty does not demarcate the are north of these streams. The administrative & revenue records of 19th century shows that Kalapani  was on the Indian side , & counted as a part of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
basically, this dispute is 200 years old one, dialogue happened many times in many ways but all in friendly terms, both countries never try to pacify the situation by demarcating the boundaries once & for  all.

It is need of time to friendly handle & resolve the issue by taking account all shared environmental characteristics.
